Marathon 2011

After 2 hours sailing the results were as follows:

1st - Bob & June Hutson - Pacer
2nd - John Slater -Streaker
3rd - John Pledger & Mark Earley
4th - Ken Lees
5th - Dennis Gannon & Tom Purkiss
6th - John Solcombe

After the sailing several of us stayed for a DIY BBQ which was very enjoyable in the sun.

Bill Still for being our Race Officer;
Peter Banfield for setting our course and being on hand with the rescue boat which fortunately was not needed; and
John Pledger for bringing his gas BBQ.

Regatta 2011

Joint 1st Place - John Pledger/Mark Earley and John Slater with 4 points each.

3rd Place - John Slocombe - 11 points

4th Place - Bill Still - 12 points

5th Place - Tom & John Purkiss - 18 points

6th Place - Trevor & Courtney Howley - 19 points   

Thankyou to everyone for taking part and to Peter Banfield for a good course and for being back on the rescue boat.

 

Commodore Cup

This cup is awarded to the helm that wins the most races over the course of a whole season. The winner being the person with least points at the end of the year. In summary, points are awarded for taking part in races and extra points added for races not competed in. Consequently consistency of attendance is as important as doing well in races.

Prize for most innovative way to fall into the lake

Mark Earley is currently leading 2011 with a very elegant back flip from a GP14.
Steve Iles is a strong challenger following a slow motion "splits dive" involving one foot on the pontoon and one on his Laser.
